Having secured a number of race wins and podiums, the Estonian driver went on to finish third overall in the 2021 and 2022 Championships. He is now set to join Hitech off the back of a stellar maiden season in FIA Formula 3 this year, in which he took one win, four podiums and third in the standings.

Aron has high hopes as he makes the move up to FIA Formula 2, adding,

“I’m really pleased to be joining Hitech in F2 for 2024. It will be a really important step in my career, coming off a strong rookie season in F3 where I took third overall. I’m looking forward to developing my skills with the Hitech team and I am confident we can hit the ground running next year.”

Belgian-born Amaury Cordeel teams up with Paul Aron in his third season in the FIA Formula 2 Championship. The 21-year-old driver impressed in his early years in junior categories, racking up a number of race wins and podiums along the way. He made his single-seater debut in the 2017 French Formula 4 series, where he placed 16th before making the switch to Spanish F4 the following season. During the title-winning campaign, Cordeel recorded four hard-fought race wins and twelve podiums.

In 2019 and 2020 he furthered his single-seater experience in the F3 Asian Winter Series and Formula Renault Eurocup. The following year saw him graduate to FIA F3 before making the step up to FIA F2 in 2022.

Cordeel is looking forward to joining the Hitech team in F2 for the 2024 season, adding, “I am excited to be staying in Formula 2 for another season, this time joining Hitech on the grid. I’m ready to take on the challenge and write the next chapter of my racing journey with this incredible team. I am so grateful for the opportunity and look forward to the start of the new season in February.”

“As a team we are enthusiastic to work with our 2024 FIA F2 drivers, Amaury Cordeel and Paul Aron,” said Clive Hatton, Hitech’s Formula 2 Team Manager. “Amaury has 2 years’ worth of experience in FIA F2. Showing a rise in performance in recent rounds we hope to build on this in post season testing and into next season. Paul has proved himself to be a championship contender last year in FIA F3, and the previous 2 years in FRECA. We are eager to see them both working with the team, performing on track and fighting for victories.”
